Co-op 2016 Pinotage

This is good Pinotage - not the best pinotage I've ever tasted but it's ma million miles away from the worst and it slips down easily enough.
It's not overly expensive and delivers about 60% of the jamminess that comes with a really accomplished Pinotage. this is accented nicely by a hint of spice and a little "dustiness", the essential (for me anyway) mineral quality that many associate with this fascinating grape.
It's quite thin, with highlights of a touch of pine-resin tannin that might ease off with a year in the bottle (or a day in the decanter) but it is a satisfying wine with enough red fruit (plums - but a touch under-ripe) to keep me pouring.
It's very decent value at a mere £5.25.
