I can recall meeting one of my brothers in law at Edinburgh arport in the middle of August. He and his family stepped into the terminal, all wearing shorts as we were heading off to Mull for a week. As it was barely 10C outside and just about to start raining (for an uninterrupted and average 10 days), I headed us all round to an outdoor stockist so that they could purchase trousers and waterproofs.
This year has been different.
Since the end of May, the weather has been uncharacteristically gorgeous and over the last couple of weeks, sublime.
I’ve barely been out of shorts, even when conducting myself and Fiona around in “the beast”, our green 1953 ragtop Bentley R-type special.
It’s been so appallingly delightful that I’ve had to resort to using sunscreen on my knees to stop them from getting burned whilst resident in the driving seat!
I’ve added some images so that you can see for yourselves.
